 Expert Panelists:

Kostadin Kushlev, PhD is Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Georgetown University. Dr. Kushlev investigates how smartphones and social media affect health and well-being. He is the Principal Investigator of the Digital Health and Happiness Lab, aka the Happy Tech Lab. At Georgetown, Dr. Kushlev is currently recruiting parents and adolescents for a study on the effects of social media on mental health.

Chelsey Foster, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in treating anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, emotion dysregulation, and stress-related disorders across the lifespan. She specializes in parent consultation for children and teens with a variety of issues to help parents respond more effectively to challenging behaviors, develop strategies to support their children, and enact lasting change in the home.

Darrell Sampson, EdD, MA, LPC, NCC is the Executive Director of Student Services with Arlington Public Schools where he oversees school counseling, school health, school psychology, school social work, social-emotional learning, as well as student registration. Dr. Sampson regularly serves on national and Virginia workgroups and has been a contributor to state policies and guidance documents in the areas of student and staff social-emotional supports, suicide intervention and prevention, transgender, non-binary, and gender-fluid students, as well as high-school transcript requirements.
