As a 501(c)3 non-for-profit organization, our charitable goals include supporting others in delivering meaningful programs to children and their families. We unite around our vision to work toward every child receiving access to the resources they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Your charitable contribution could support

  • A scholarship fund providing teachers and counselors further education or licensure

  • A program at a partner organization, like after school support, school-based counseling services, or behavioral health session

  • Sponsorship of children in a program where financial resources for the caregiver(s) may be limited

  • Donations to Champions for Children directly support our grant funds; each year, Champions for Children selects partner organizations who are aligned in our charitable mission to help solve the youth mental health crisis. Your donation supports other non-profits, event funds, educational events, and more!

  • Yes! Champions for Children is a certified not for profit 501c3 organization wih tax exempt status from the IRS. You will receive a donation receipt for your records with any donation, no matter the size.

  • Yes! Champions for Children accepts stock transfers and donations. Please email us at Championsforchildrendmv@gmail.com for information on how to submit a transfer for charitable expenses.

Meet Our Grantees

  • Through an innovative two-generation approach, Generation Hope helps teen parents, and their children achieve economic mobility through education through the provision of tuition assistance, career services, early childhood education support, and individualized and flexible mental health services for both parents and children. Generation Hope’s mental health programming is designed to be responsive to the needs of Scholars and their children, to be as convenient and low-barrier as possible for Scholars and their children, and to utilize community resources whenever possible. support will help ensure that young families receive the holistic and wide-ranging resources and support they need to thrive.

    Impact: Funding will provide basic needs for such as diapers, school supplies, and grocery cards, tuition and wraparound services for four Generation Hope Scholars on their journey to a 4-year college degree, and customized delivery of our children’s mental health programming including materials for at-home therapeutic activities, one-on-one sessions, and “play therapy”, a therapy group for 6–9-year-olds to foster feeling expression, healthy social skills, self-regulation, and empathy through therapeutic games and activities.

  • Morgan’s Message® is a 501(c)(3) that strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. Morgan’s Message uses stories, resources, and expertise to strengthen student-athletes’ mental health, builds a community by and for athletes through peer-to-peer conversations and provides a platform for advocacy, all with the hope that when someone is struggling, they won’t hesitate to reach out and get the help they need and deserve.

    Impact: Funding will support materials, peer-to-peer monthly meetings of all sports at over 1,700 high schools and college campuses as well as the production of the podcast and blog, The Mental Matchup series, for two seasons.

  • Adventist Healthcare The Lourie Center for Children's Social & Emotional Wellness is a private, non-profit agency with a mission to improve the social and emotional health of young children and their families through prevention, early intervention, education, research, and training. The Lourie Center serves more than 4,000 children and families in the Washington metropolitan area, regardless of ability to pay.

    Impact: Funding will support access to specialized early childhood mental health and emergency psychiatric care for high-risk children. This will provide emergency psychiatric screenings and 24-hour on-call support for children from ages 4–11 who are in crisis and safety planning coordination with parents/caregivers, and school personnel.
